AAP’s Sanjeev Jha Accuses BJP Of Double Standards Over Rohingya Issue In Delhi

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and Delhi MLA Sanjeev Jha has launched a sharp attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), accusing it of misleading voters by publicly opposing the settlement of Rohingyas during elections while allegedly aiding their accommodation post-polls.

Addressing a press conference, Sanjeev Jha claimed that 19 Rohingya children were recently admitted into two Delhi government schools located in Karawal Nagar, a constituency held by BJP leader Kapil Mishra.

BJP makes Rohingyas an election issue every single time—whether it’s elections in Delhi or anywhere else in the country. Today, I will expose how the BJP itself is the one giving protection to Rohingyas,” said Jha.

He recalled BJP’s repeated promises from earlier elections, particularly in the run-up to the 2025 Delhi elections, wherein senior party leaders and even the Union Home Minister vowed to identify and expel all Rohingyas from the national capital.

“But once they formed the government, they started quietly protecting them. Nine Rohingya children have been admitted to SKV in Khajuri Khas, and ten more in Sarvodaya Bal Vidyalaya—both located in Kapil Mishra’s constituency,” he revealed.

Taking a dig at the BJP’s election rhetoric, Jha alleged:

“They go around with torches pretending to search for them, but in reality, they’re settling them in the city. And now they’ve been caught red-handed.”

He also referenced Kapil Mishra’s controversial past, saying:

“This is the same Kapil Mishra who was prima facie found to be involved in the Delhi riots, as per a recent court observation. These people say one thing and do something entirely different—an elephant has two sets of tusks: one to show and one to eat with.

According to the AAP MLA, the issue is more than just hypocrisy—it’s a deliberate political strategy.

“This clearly shows that Rohingyas are being settled deliberately in parts of Delhi and elsewhere, so the BJP can keep using them as an election issue—settle them quietly, then campaign against them and secure votes,” he asserted.

The explosive allegations come at a time when both national and local narratives are heating up around immigration, national security, and voter sentiment, particularly in the run-up to future polls.
