AAP Women’s Wing Intensifies Outreach For Delhi Assembly Elections

Ahead of the Delhi Assembly elections, the Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) women’s wing has launched an extensive campaign to connect directly with women voters across all 70 constituencies, a press release stated on Thursday.

Grassroots Campaign and Engagement

AAP has established 5,000 women’s groups, each comprising eight members. These groups aim to reach out to ten women each, holding three to four meetings daily. The meetings focus on discussing the welfare schemes introduced by the AAP-led Delhi government under Arvind Kejriwal and the benefits these initiatives have provided to women.

The campaign also highlights the lack of similar facilities for women in BJP-ruled states, encouraging women to compare governance models.

Women-Oriented Schemes Under the AAP Government

During these meetings, women are informed about key initiatives introduced by the Delhi government, including:

  • Free electricity
  • Free water supply
  • Free bus travel for women
  • Improved access to quality education and healthcare

According to AAP Delhi State Convenor Gopal Rai, these measures collectively save families Rs 5,000 to Rs 10,000 monthly, empowering women to allocate resources to other essential needs. Rai also announced that the government plans to introduce a monthly allowance of Rs 1,000 for women.

Feedback and Strategy Development

The women’s wing is actively gathering feedback during the meetings to share with senior party leaders, enabling the party to tailor its election strategies. The campaign aims to replicate the party’s strong performance with women voters in the 2015 and 2020 elections.

Outreach in Neighbouring States

Women are encouraged to discuss governance issues, such as electricity rates and public services, with their relatives in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, and Haryana, emphasizing the differences in living standards and facilities.

AAP plans to hold 50,000 meetings across Delhi, ensuring that the achievements of the AAP-led government are communicated effectively to voters.
