Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Sanjay Singh expressed condolences for the District Reserve Guard (DRG) personnel who lost their lives in a deadly IED blast in Bijapur, Chhattisgarh. Singh strongly criticized the Naxalite attack, calling it a “shameful incident,” and urged the Ministry of Home Affairs to respond decisively.
Sanjay Singh Questions Union Government
Speaking to media, Singh raised questions about the Union government’s claims of eradicating terrorism:
“It is a shameful incident. The Indian government and Union HM Amit Shah should answer why such incidents are happening as they claim that they have ended terrorism. I pay homage to the jawans who died in this blast…There should be no place for violence. The agencies under the Ministry of Home Affairs should give a befitting reply to this.”
Home Minister Amit Shah Assures Action
Union Home Minister Amit Shah extended condolences via X (formerly Twitter) and reaffirmed the Centre’s commitment to eradicating Naxalism by March 2026:
“I am deeply saddened by the news of losing DRG personnel in the IED blast in Bijapur (Chhattisgarh). I extend my heartfelt condolences to the families of the brave soldiers. It is impossible to express this grief in words, but I assure you that the sacrifices of our soldiers will not go in vain. We will eradicate Naxalism from Indian soil by March 2026.”

State Government’s Resolve
The Chhattisgarh government reiterated its commitment to robust anti-Naxal operations, emphasizing the need to ensure lasting peace and security in the region.
This tragic incident underscores the ongoing challenges posed by Naxalite insurgency and the need for sustained efforts to bring stability to affected areas.
