New Delhi [India], March 16: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Saurabh Bharadwaj has strongly denied any speculation about a potential alliance between AAP and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), following Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s recent meeting with BJP leader Laxmi Kanta Chawla in Amritsar on Saturday. Bharadwaj firmly stated that Kejriwal has never succumbed to BJP pressure, nor will he ever.
Addressing the issue, Bharadwaj pointed out the difficulties faced by AAP leaders, including former ministers Satyendar Jain and Manish Sisodia, who have spent nearly two years in jail. “Satyendar Jain and Manish Sisodia have been in jail for almost two years. Arvind Kejriwal and Sanjay Singh have been jailed for six months each. If these people did not bow down then, will BJP be able to make them bow down today? BJP should clear its misunderstanding. Arvind Kejriwal will never bow down to BJP, nor will he fear them or be subdued,” he said.
Bharadwaj also commented on Kejriwal’s meeting with Chawla, mentioning that it was a courtesy meeting, as Chawla holds a respected position as the Pradhan of the Durgiana Temple. “For the first time, a woman has become the Pradhan of the temple. She is highly respected in Punjab, and people meet her as a matter of courtesy,” he added.
In addition, Bharadwaj criticized Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tej Pratap Yadav over a controversy involving his alleged instruction to a police officer to dance during Holi celebrations. “Tej Pratap Yadav should learn from the BJP how to make the police dance. BJP made the entire Delhi Police dance during elections without facing criticism. They are using ED and CBI across the country to dance to their tune, yet no controversy arises. If you want to make officials dance, do it like the BJP does, not on Holi, which only brings disrepute,” he remarked.
