New Delhi [India], January 7: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) officially kicked off its campaign for the 2025 Delhi Assembly elections with the release of a new campaign song, “Phir Layenge Kejriwal” (Will Bring Back Kejriwal). The Election Commission is expected to announce the dates for the upcoming polls on Tuesday.
The event was attended by AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal, Delhi Chief Minister Atishi, party leader Manish Sisodia, and other senior leaders. AAP MP Sanjay Singh told, “This song will be a hit. Our slogan has always been ‘Phir Layenge Kejriwal,’ and the song reflects this message. It will reach every household, and the people will ensure Arvind Kejriwal wins with a huge majority.”
AAP spokesperson Priyanka Kakkar also spoke about the election preparations, saying that the party is ready with all 70 candidates and Kejriwal as its CM face. She criticized the BJP and Congress for their lack of preparedness. “We are fully prepared, and we are confident that Arvind Kejriwal will be re-elected for a fourth term,” she said.
Saurabh Bharadwaj, an AAP MLA, added, “Nothing is better for AAP than the elections being announced today. We are fully prepared and confident of winning a big majority once again.”
In the 2020 Delhi Assembly elections, AAP won 62 out of 70 seats, while the BJP secured eight seats.
Earlier, Kejriwal had raised concerns about alleged large-scale fraud in voter additions and deletions in the New Delhi Assembly seat. He shared a letter from Chief Minister Atishi, addressed to the Delhi Chief Electoral Officer, highlighting the issue and requesting a meeting to discuss the evidence.
