“AAP Has Broken Record Of Corruption Set By Congress”: BJP MP Anurag Thakur

Hamirpur (Himachal Pradesh) [India]: After senior AAP leader Kailash Gahlot joined the BJP on Monday, Hamirpur MP and former Union Minister Anurag Thakur slammed the Aam Aadmi Party, saying it has even broken the “corruption record” of Congress and hence its ministers are leaving the party one by one.

“AAP made big promises to the public which it could not fulfil, it could not live up to the expectations of the public. Aam Aadmi Party has only done corruption. There is hardly any party more corrupt than AAP in the country. Corruption started with Kejriwal, which has gradually reached its MLAs and ministers. The name of this party is definitely Aam Aadmi Party, but it has nothing to do with the common man. The one which has broken even the record of Congress in corruption is Aam Aadmi Party.

This is the reason why the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister of Aam Aadmi Party, which is embroiled in corruption, have resigned from their posts and one by one their other ministers are also leaving the party,” Thakur told reporters in Hamirpur.
In a major setback to the Aam Aadmi Party ahead of the Delhi Assembly polls, senior leader Kailash Gahlot joined the BJP on Monday.

Gehlot, who resigned from AAP on Sunday citing deep concerns over the party’s direction and internal challenges, joined the BJP in the presence of Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and other BJP leaders.

Speaking on his resignation from the AAP, Gahlot said that it was not an easy step for him.

“This was not an easy step for me. I have been associated with AAP since the days of Anna Ji and have consistently worked for the people of Delhi. To everyone who thinks that I made this decision under pressure, I want to say that I have never done anything under pressure. This is not a decision taken in just one day. I left my legal career to join AAP, and all of us were united by an ideology. Our sole purpose was to serve the people of Delhi,” he said.

AAP won 62 out of the 70 seats in the 2020 assembly elections and BJP secured eighth seats. Assembly polls in Delhi are expected to be held in early 2025.
