AAP Confident Of Retaining Delhi Assembly Power, Bharadwaj Criticizes BJP’s Leadership in Poll Campaign

New Delhi [India], February 4: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate from Greater Kailash Assembly seat, Saurabh Bharadwaj, expressed confidence on Tuesday that the AAP is poised to retain power in the Delhi Assembly elections for the third consecutive term.

Bharadwaj highlighted the distinct choices available to voters in the upcoming elections, drawing a comparison between the AAP and BJP candidates. He praised the AAP team for having a group of educated and accomplished individuals like Arvind Kejriwal, an IITian, and Manish Sisodia, with a media background. Bharadwaj then pointed out that the BJP‘s team includes figures like Ramesh Bidhuri, Parvesh Verma, and Satish Upadhyay, whom he implied are unfit to lead Delhi.

“Bharadwaj said, “The AAP team is composed of clean and professional people, including Arvind Kejriwal, an IITian, and Manish Sisodia, a media professional. On the other hand, BJP’s leadership features people like Ramesh Bidhuri and Parvesh Verma,” implying their leadership skills are questionable.”

He further questioned, “Will Delhi’s citizens want to hand their city over to individuals with such questionable credentials?” and stressed that the people would reject the BJP’s alleged “abuse and hooliganism,” opting instead for a party focused on the welfare of its citizens.

In a separate development, AAP Chief Arvind Kejriwal made serious allegations against the Election Commission of India (ECI) and Delhi Police. He accused both bodies of collaborating to support hooliganism against AAP and protect the BJP’s alleged wrongdoings. Kejriwal claimed that the ECI and Delhi Police were trying to disrupt the electoral process to favor the BJP, highlighting their focus on distributing liquor and money during the election.

This came after the Delhi Police filed a case against Delhi CM and AAP candidate Atishi for violating the Model Code of Conduct. On February 5, Delhi will hold a single-phase election, and the counting of votes is scheduled for February 8.

The political atmosphere in Delhi has grown increasingly intense as AAP, BJP, and Congress trade allegations in the final days before the election. In the 2020 Delhi Assembly elections, AAP secured an overwhelming victory, winning 62 out of 70 seats, while the BJP managed only 8 seats. Congress, which ruled Delhi for 15 consecutive years, has failed to win any seats in the last two elections.
