AAP And BJP Clash Over Free LPG Cylinder Promise In Delhi

New Delhi [India], March 13: A war of words broke out between the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Delhi on Thursday over the BJP’s unfulfilled promise of free LPG cylinders to women on Holi.

AAP leader Saurabh Bharadwaj criticized Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva, stating that as he’s neither a Chief Minister nor a Minister, the BJP government should explain why it failed to fulfill its promise to provide free LPG cylinders to the women of Delhi. He accused the BJP of betraying the people, particularly Hindus, by not keeping their word.

“Firstly, Virendra Sachdeva is not the Chief Minister or a Minister. The government should answer this. What administrative problem did they face that they couldn’t fulfil the promise of free cylinders on Holi made to the Hindus of Delhi? They have betrayed the Hindus of Delhi,” Bharadwaj said.

In response, BJP President Virendra Sachdeva assured that the party would honor all promises made in its Sankalp Patra. He accused AAP of engaging in “politics of lies, arrogance, and confrontation,” claiming that AAP’s protests were rooted in false promises made by them. Sachdeva also stated that free LPG cylinders would be provided once budgetary requirements were met.

“Atishi and AAP do the politics of lies, arrogance, and confrontation. They always made false promises. Earlier, they protested over our promise of providing Rs 2500 to women. Now, they are worrying about cylinders. I want to tell them that the BJP will fulfill all the promises made in Sankalp Patra. It just needs some budgetary rules to follow,” Sachdeva said.

The controversy revolves around the BJP’s election promise to give free LPG cylinders to women on Holi and Diwali, a commitment made in their manifesto for the Delhi Assembly elections. AAP leaders have been vocal in their criticism, accusing the BJP of failing to deliver on this promise, labeling the party as a “jumla” party for its inability to fulfill its guarantees.

Today, AAP leaders organized a protest at ITO, displaying a banner criticizing the BJP for not delivering on the free LPG cylinder promise. AAP leader Kuldeep Kumar slammed the BJP, accusing them of lying to the people of Delhi about both the free cylinders and the Rs 2500 promised to residents.

“Modi ji had given a guarantee to the people of Delhi, and JP Nadda ji, the BJP had given a guarantee that women would receive free cylinders by Holi. Today is Choti Holi. Holi has arrived, but the cylinders have not. The people of Delhi are waiting for the free cylinders. In the end, Modi ji’s guarantee has turned out to be a ‘jumla.’ First, they lied to the women, then they lied about the cylinders. BJP is a ‘jumla’ party. The people of Delhi got neither free cylinders nor Rs 2500. Our protest will continue until the people of Delhi get free cylinders,” he stated.

The BJP has yet to fulfill its promise, fueling ongoing protests from AAP as the issue continues to dominate political discourse in Delhi.
