New Delhi [India]: A 37-year-old motorcycle rider reportedly died after allegedly falling into a pothole in Delhi’s Tigri area, though authorities are still examining CCTV footage to confirm the circumstances of the accident.
The victim, identified as Rashid Khan, was a resident of Sangam Vihar, Delhi. The incident occurred near Hamdard Hospital on MB Road in South Delhi.
According to the police, they received a PCR call on March 10 reporting a person lying near the red light in the Tigri area. Upon reaching the spot, authorities found Rashid Khan on the footpath with a head injury. His motorcycle and helmet were also found nearby.
Rashid Khan was immediately rushed to AIIMS Trauma Center, where doctors declared him dead.
Initial reports suggest that Rashid may have fallen into a pothole filled with water, contributing to the fatal accident. However, the police are reviewing CCTV footage from the vicinity to confirm the precise cause.
A case has been registered under sections 281/186(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Samhita (BNS), and further investigations are ongoing.
Authorities are expected to provide additional details as the inquiry progresses.
