Washington [US]: Rising star Asa Germann, known for his roles in Gen V and The Boys, has been cast in the highly anticipated Scream 7, according to Deadline.
The film marks Germann’s entry into the iconic meta-horror franchise, joining an ensemble cast that includes returning star Neve Campbell as Sidney Prescott, Isabel May (playing Prescott’s daughter), and Celeste O’Connor. Details about Germann’s role, as well as O’Connor’s character, remain under wraps.
The Legacy of ‘Scream’ and New Heights
Directed by franchise creator and writer Kevin Williamson, Scream 7 builds on the success of Scream VI, which set a franchise record with a domestic gross surpassing $108 million in March 2023. Across six films, the Scream series has earned more than $900 million globally.
The Scream franchise began in 1996 with Wes Craven’s original film, which redefined the slasher genre by cleverly deconstructing its tropes. Craven directed the first four entries, with Radio Silence taking the reins for Scream (2022) and Scream VI (2023). Now, Williamson returns to direct the seventh installment, continuing the legacy of blending terror with sharp social commentary.
Release Date and Production Details
Produced by Spyglass Media Group, Scream 7 will be distributed by Paramount Pictures and is slated for a worldwide theatrical release on February 27, 2026.
