Israel, Bahrain, And Nepal Highlight Global Partnerships At 29th CII Partnership Summit

Israel Economy Minister Nir Barkat, Bahrain Commerce Minister Abdulla bin Adel Fakhro, and Nepal Industry Minister Damodar Bhandari emphasized global partnerships, trade, and innovation at the 29th Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Partnership Summit 2024 in New Delhi.

Israel’s Vision for Growth and Collaboration
Addressing the summit, Nir Barkat emphasized the strong ties between India and Israel based on shared values and people-to-people friendships. He highlighted Israel’s focus on expanding trade and business partnerships and outlined ambitious goals to scale its exports from $160 billion to $1 trillion within 15-20 years.

“Ties between India and Israel are built on shared values, complemented by strong government-to-government diplomatic foundations and people-to-people friendships,” Barkat stated.

He condemned the October 7, 2023, attacks on Israel by Iran and its proxies, citing the ongoing challenges Israel faces:
“On October 7, 2023, Israel was attacked by Iran and his jihadi proxies…we’ve seen the worst atrocities committed to Jews since the Holocaust…and we still have 101 hostages held in inhumane conditions in the underground tunnels of Gaza.”

Barkat also showcased Israel’s leadership in cybersecurity, desert technology, and climate change solutions, emphasizing innovation in agro-tech, food-tech, and water management.

Bahrain’s Strategic Role as a Trade Hub
Bahrain Commerce Minister Abdulla bin Adel Fakhro highlighted his country’s strategic position as a bridge between East and West, facilitating trade and cultural exchanges.

“For centuries, Bahrain has been a vital link between East and West, connecting India with the Middle East, Europe, and beyond,” he remarked.

Fakhro stressed the importance of global cooperation:
“No nation can thrive in isolation. The global economy is interconnected, and its future depends on our ability to build bridges and not walls.”

Nepal Invites Global Investment
Nepal Industry Minister Damodar Bhandari extended an invitation to global businesses and investors to partner with Nepal in key sectors. He acknowledged India’s pivotal role in Nepal’s economy, noting its position as the largest trading partner and source of tourism.

“I invite businesses and investors from around the globe to invest in the highly potential sectors of Nepal and partner with us by bringing in new technology, capital, and expertise,” Bhandari said.
