Mumbai, Maharashtra (India), December2 : The 5th edition of the Filmfare OTT Awards, held in Mumbai on December 1, celebrated the finest talent in web series and films across 39 categories. The glitzy ceremony saw a gathering of top celebrities, directors, and experts from the digital entertainment industry.
The evening recognized exceptional performances, writing, and direction within the OTT space. Among the standout winners in the web series category, Rajkummar Rao took home the award for Best Actor, Series (Male) – Comedy for his role in Guns and Gulaabs. Gagan Dev Riar also earned praise for his performance in Scam 2003: The Telgi Story, winning Best Actor, Series (Male) – Drama.
In the female acting categories, Best Actress in a Comedy Series was awarded to Geetanjali Kulkarni for her role in Gullak Season 4, while Manisha Koirala won Best Actress in a Drama Series for her powerful portrayal in Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar.
Other notable winners included Faisal Malik, who received the Best Supporting Actor, Series (Male) – Comedy award for Panchayat Season 3, and R. Madhavan, who won Best Supporting Actor, Series (Male) – Drama for The Railway Men. In the supporting actress categories, Nidhi Bisht was named Best Supporting Actress, Series (Female) – Comedy for her role in Maamla Legal Hai, and Mona Singh won Best Supporting Actress, Series (Female) – Drama for her performance in Made in Heaven Season 2.
The awards also highlighted excellence behind the camera. Best Original Story, Series went to Biswapati Sarkar for Kaala Paani, while Best Cinematography, Series was awarded to Sudeep Chatterjee, Mahesh Limaye, Huenstang Mohapatra, and Ragul Herian Dharuman for Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar. Best Editing, Series was claimed by Yasha Jaidev Ramchandani for The Railway Men.
In the creative categories, Sumit Arora won Best Dialogue, Series for Guns & Gulaabs, and the Best Original Screenplay, Series award went to Aj Nidimoru, Krishna DK, and Suman Kumar for Guns & Gulaabs. Scam 2003: The Telgi Story won Best Adapted Screenplay, Series, with Kiran Yadnyopavit, Kedar Patankar, and Karan Vyas credited for their work.
The Railway Men also triumphed in the Best VFX (Series) category, with Filmgate AB and Hive Studios credited for the visual effects. The Best Sound Design (Series) award went to Sanjay Maurya and Allwin Rego for Kaala Paani, while the Best Soundtrack (Series) award was claimed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Raja Hasan, and Sharmistha Chatterjee for Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar.
Best Debut Director, Series was awarded to Shiv Rawail for The Railway Men, marking a strong start to his directing career.
In the Critics’ category, Guns & Gulaabs won Best Series, while Mumbai Diaries Season 2 took home Best Director. Kay Kay Menon was named Best Actor (Male) in Series for Bambai Meri Jaan, and Huma Qureshi received Best Actress for Maharani S03.
In the film categories, Jaane Jaan was awarded Best Film, with Jaideep Ahlawat and Ananya Panday winning Best Actor and Best Actress, respectively. Diljit Dosanjh received the Best Actor award for Amar Singh Chamkila, while Kareena Kapoor Khan won Best Actress for her role in Jaane Jaan. Arjun Varain Singh was given Special Recognition for Kho Gaye Hum Kahan.
