Vikrant Massey Announces Break From Acting: “It’s Time To Recalibrate And Go Back Home”

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], December1: In a surprising announcement that has stunned both his fans and the film industry, actor Vikrant Massey revealed that he will retire from acting after 2025. The 37-year-old, known for his impactful roles in 12th Fail, The Sabarmati Report, and Sector 36, shared this news through a heartfelt post on his Instagram on Monday morning.

“The last few years and beyond have been phenomenal. I thank each and every one of you for your indelible support. But as I move forward, I realize it’s time to recalibrate and go back home. As a Husband, Father & a Son. And also as an Actor,” Vikrant wrote, leaving fans in disbelief about his decision to step away from the spotlight.

His announcement comes at a time when Vikrant’s career is flourishing. His recent film, The Sabarmati Report, has been receiving critical acclaim. In a recent interview during the closing ceremony of the 55th International Film Festival of India (IFFI), Vikrant spoke about his approach to his craft, emphasizing his commitment to responsible filmmaking.

“I always try to work responsibly. Whether it’s 12th Fail, Sector 36, or The Sabarmati Report, I aim to entertain while being part of responsible cinema,” he explained. He also highlighted his desire to create both entertaining and inspiring films, noting cinema’s powerful influence on society.

“Cinema remains a highly influential medium. Many in society draw inspiration from it. In India, we produce around 1,800 to 2,000 films annually, covering all genres. While all kinds of films are necessary, responsible cinema is thriving, and audiences are appreciating it,” Vikrant added.

Vikrant’s acting journey began in television with Dhoom Machao Dhoom, but he became a household name with his role in Balika Vadhu in 2009. His film career took off with Lootera, and he later went on to make his mark with leading roles in A Death in the Gunj (2017), Broken But Beautiful, Ginny Weds Sunny, Haseen Dilruba, Love Hostel, and 12th Fail.

Though he plans to retire from acting, his fans can look forward to his final projects, which are set to release in 2025.
