Hyderabad (Telangana), December 1: The makers of Ram Charan’s much-anticipated film, tentatively titled RC16, have announced that Divyenndu, best known for his role as ‘Munna Bhaiya’ in Mirzapur, has joined the cast. This marks the actor’s debut in the South Indian film industry.
On November 30, Vriddhi Cinemas, the producers behind the project, unveiled Divyenndu’s first-look poster, revealing his intense new look. In the poster, Divyenndu sports an animal-print shirt paired with black jeans, exuding a fierce, villainous aura with his long beard and piercing gaze.
Taking to Instagram, Vriddhi Cinemas shared their excitement, writing, “Our favourite Munna Bhayya will light up the big screens in a spectacular role tailor-made for him. Team #RC16 welcomes the incredibly talented and compelling performer @divyenndu onboard.”
Directed by Buchi Babu Sana, RC16 also stars Janhvi Kapoor, Kannada superstar Shiva Raj Kumar, and Jagapathi Babu in key roles. The film is set to begin shooting soon. Produced by Sukumar Writings, the banner led by director Sukumar, the film’s music will be composed by Oscar-winning composer A.R. Rahman.
In addition to RC16, Divyenndu will be seen in the upcoming film Agni, set to release on December 6 on Amazon Prime Video. Directed by Rahul Dholakia, Agni tells the story of firefighters’ courage and sacrifice, with Pratik Gandhi, Jitendra Joshi, Saiyami Kher, and Kabir Shah in prominent roles. Divyenndu plays Samit, a police officer and the brother-in-law of Gandhi’s fearless firefighter character, Vithal.
Divyenndu, who made waves this year with his performance in Madgaon Express, first rose to fame for his role in Mirzapur, where his portrayal of the volatile Munna Bhaiya earned him widespread acclaim. The fourth season of Mirzapur is currently in development, with a release expected soon.
