Producer Ektaa Kapoor has issued a public warning against fraudulent casting calls circulating online under the banner of Balaji Telefilms.
In an official statement released on Friday (February 27), the production house alerted aspiring actors and directors about fake social media accounts and unauthorised individuals allegedly misusing Balaji Telefilms’ name to promote bogus casting opportunities for upcoming television serials, web series and films.
‘We Strongly Disassociate Ourselves’
The statement clarified that the company has no association with such fraudulent entities and condemned attempts to exploit newcomers in the industry. It emphasised that Balaji Telefilms does not solicit registration fees, audition charges or any form of monetary deposits for casting.
The production house further stated that it does not issue formal agreements without prior in-person meetings at its official premises. All legitimate recruitment and casting processes are conducted strictly through verified channels and authorised casting directors.
Public Advisory
Balaji Telefilms urged individuals to:
- Verify all information through official sources
- Avoid engaging with unverified accounts
- Refrain from sharing personal details or transferring money
- Exercise caution before responding to casting-related messages
The clarification comes amid increasing concerns in the entertainment industry about online scams targeting aspiring performers.
