Actor Priyanka Chopra Jonas’ much-awaited action drama The Bluff has finally premiered digitally, skipping a theatrical release. The film debuted globally on Wednesday on Amazon Prime Video, with its India release dropping at 1:30 pm, an unusual departure from the traditional midnight launch window.
To expand its reach among Indian audiences, the movie has been released in Hindi, Malayalam, Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, and English.
The Bluff Story: A Pirate’s Past Returns to Haunt Her
Set in the late 19th-century Caribbean, The Bluff follows Ercell “Bloody Mary” Bodden, a former pirate who has abandoned her violent past to live a peaceful life with her husband and son in the Cayman Islands.
Her quiet life shatters when her old enemy Captain Connor resurfaces, seeking revenge. As her family becomes a target, Ercell is forced to return to the dangerous world she once left behind.
The film blends intense action with emotional drama, highlighting a mother’s struggle to protect her family while confronting her dark past.
Star-Studded Cast and Production Details
Priyanka Chopra Jonas leads the film as Ercell Bodden, delivering a physically demanding and emotionally layered performance. Karl Urban plays the antagonist Captain Connor, whose rivalry with Ercell drives the plot.

Priyanka Chopra on Why She Chose ‘The Bluff’
Chopra Jonas, who also serves as a producer, revealed that she instantly agreed to the project after reading the script during the shoot of Citadel Season 2.
“I couldn’t stop reading it. It moved me on so many levels, and I knew it would be something special for me as an actor,” she said.
