Nick Jonas Begins Shooting for ‘Jumanji 3’?

The jungle drums are beating once again as Nick Jonas officially joins the star-studded cast on the set of the highly anticipated Jumanji sequel. Confirming the news via an Instagram Reel on February 22, 2026, Jonas announced his return as the fan-favorite pilot avatar, Jefferson “Seaplane” McDonough.

“We are so back. Jumanji round 3,” Jonas captioned the post, which quickly garnered a supportive “Let’s go” from his wife, global icon Priyanka Chopra.

Production Underway

While the film is tentatively titled Jumanji 3 (the fourth in the overall franchise), production has been moving at a brisk pace in Los Angeles since November 2025. The movie is currently slated for a global theatrical release on December 11, 2026.

Jonas joins a familiar ensemble of heavy hitters who have already begun filming their scenes:

  • Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson
  • Kevin Hart
  • Jack Black
  • Karen Gillan
  • Awkwafina

Earlier this week, Dwayne Johnson shared a heartfelt tribute on social media marking a bittersweet milestone: the official wrap for veteran actor Danny DeVito, who reprises his role as Eddie Gilpin.

A Big Year for Nick Jonas

The return to the Jumanji universe caps off an incredibly productive month for Jonas. On February 6, 2026, he released his fifth solo studio album, Sunday Best.

Described by Billboard as his most “honest and introspective” work yet, the album explores his life with Priyanka Chopra, their daughter Malti, and his 20-year journey managing Type 1 diabetes. In a bold move for transparency, the album’s cover art even features his Dexcom G7 glucose monitor.
