Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar has announced a new release date for his upcoming horror-comedy Bhooth Bangla, directed by Priyadarshan. The film will now hit theatres on April 10, 2026, earlier than its previously scheduled release on May 15.
Akshay Kumar shared the update on Instagram along with an announcement teaser, writing, “Bhooth Bangla ka countdown rewind! 10 April… Milte hain theatres mein. #BhoothBangla.” The post quickly generated excitement among fans, especially those eager to see the actor reunite with Priyadarshan.
Bhooth Bangla marks the first collaboration between Akshay Kumar and Priyadarshan in 14 years. The duo has delivered several iconic Bollywood comedies in the past, including Hera Pheri, Garam Masala, Bhool Bhulaiyaa, and Bhagam Bhag. Their last project together was Khatta Meetha in 2010.
Apart from Akshay Kumar, the film boasts a strong ensemble cast featuring Wamiqa Gabbi, Paresh Rawal, Tabu, Rajpal Yadav, and the late veteran actor Asrani. The combination of a horror-comedy genre and Priyadarshan’s signature humour has raised expectations among audiences.
The film is presented by Balaji Motion Pictures, a division of Balaji Telefilms Ltd, in association with Cape of Good Films. It is produced by Akshay Kumar, Shobha Kapoor, and Ektaa R Kapoor.
Meanwhile, Akshay Kumar and Priyadarshan are also collaborating on two more upcoming projects — Haiwaan, which will star Saif Ali Khan, and the much-awaited third instalment of the Hera Pheri franchise.
