Ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Minister Amit Shah’s visit to Odisha for the three-day All-India Director General-Inspector General of Police (DG-IGP) Conference in Bhubaneswar, renowned sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik crafted a beautiful sand art to welcome the dignitaries.
The conference, scheduled from November 29 to December 1, will focus on evaluating state performances, addressing law and order issues, and discussing strategies to improve the nation’s security system. Odisha Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandran had earlier confirmed the visit of both ministers on November 25.
Harichandran told ANI, “Prime Minister Modi and Home Minister Shah are expected to attend the three-day DG-IGP Conference in Bhubaneswar. The event will begin with Amit Shah attending the inaugural ceremony on November 29, while PM Modi will join the conference on November 30 and December 1.”
Highlighting the significance of the event, Harichandran added, “This is a momentous occasion for Odisha, as it will be the first time the state hosts the DG-IGP Conference in Bhubaneswar. PM Modi’s visit reflects the importance he places on Odisha, and the conference will provide a platform for crucial discussions on law and order improvements.”
The conference will see the participation of senior police officials from across the country.
On November 28, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Manjhi attended the welcome function for the DG-IGP Conference at the IPS Mess in Chandrasekharpur. He shared on social media, “Joined the Welcome Function for the All India Conference of Directors General and Inspectors General of Police at the IPS Mess, Chandrasekharpur.”
CM Majhi further added, “Tomorrow, PM Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, National Security Adviser Ajit Doval, and DGs and IGPs from across the nation will grace this prestigious event. Odisha is fully prepared to offer a warm welcome to them.”
