Following his big move to Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the IPL 2025 mega-auction, India pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar shared an emotional farewell message to his former team, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH).
The seasoned pacer was acquired by RCB for a hefty sum at the recently concluded auction, marking the end of his 11-year journey with SRH. Bhuvneshwar, who has been a key figure in the IPL, has played 176 matches and taken 181 wickets since making his debut in the 2011 season. In the 2024 IPL season, he featured in 16 matches, claiming 11 wickets.
Taking to social media, Bhuvneshwar expressed his gratitude and nostalgia for his time with SRH, reminiscing about unforgettable memories, including his two Purple Cap wins and the title victory. He also praised the unwavering support of SRH fans, known as the “Orange Army.”
“After 11 incredible years with SRH, I bid farewell to this team. I have so many unforgettable and cherishable memories—amazing victories, winning the title, claiming the Purple Cap twice, and much more. But what stands out the most is the love from the fans, which has been unwavering. Your support has been constant. Thank you, Orange Army, for shaping me into who I am today. I will carry this love and support with me forever,” Bhuvneshwar wrote on X.
In the IPL 2025 mega-auction, Bhuvneshwar, with a base price of Rs 2 crore, sparked a fierce bidding war. After an intense back-and-forth, with Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) pushing the bid up to Rs 10 crore, Royal Challengers Bangalore made the winning bid of Rs 10.75 crore, securing the services of the two-time Purple Cap winner.
