Washington [US]: As Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour nears its end, the singer expressed her gratitude and emotions following her six performances in Toronto, where fans treated her to an unforgettable experience. Swift shared her thoughts on the Toronto leg of the tour, calling it “awesome” to perform in Canada again after so much time.
“The fans in Toronto treated us like it was a hometown show,” Swift said, acknowledging the warmth and generosity she felt from the audience.
Star-Studded Audience
Among the crowd were several famous faces, including Swift’s mom Andrea, her brother Austin, Mariska Hargitay, Zooey Deschanel, Jonathan Scott, and her boyfriend Travis Kelce’s father Ed.
A Special Shoutout to Gracie Abrams
Swift also took the time to thank her opening act, Gracie Abrams, who joined her for a special performance of a mashup song featuring the Grammy-nominated track “us” and “Out of the Woods.” She praised Abrams for her amazing performances throughout the tour, calling her a “remarkable” artist.
Abrams, who has opened for Swift in several cities including Miami, New Orleans, and Indianapolis, will continue to perform with her in Vancouver next month.
Emotional Farewell to the Eras Tour
Swift reflected on the emotional significance of the tour’s conclusion, stating, “The emotions have gotten pretty heightened for me and the rest of the team because it’s gotten extremely real for us: Our next city will be the last one of The Eras Tour, and the closing of the most extraordinary chapter of my life so far.”
During one of her Toronto performances, she was moved to tears after receiving a minutes-long standing ovation following her performance of “Champagne Problems.”
In a heartfelt moment, Swift paused on stage, wiping away tears while addressing the audience:
“Toronto, we’re at the very end of this tour so you doing that, you have no idea how much it means to me and to my … This tour … I don’t even know what I’m saying anymore. That was … uh, I’m just having a bit of a moment so …”
Swift’s appreciation for the fans was evident as she said, “You’ve put so much of your lives into being with us tonight and giving us that moment we will never forget.”
Looking Ahead to Vancouver
Swift concluded her Toronto shows with gratitude, stating, “We’ve loved our time in Toronto, it’s been so amazing. I love you guys. Thanks so much for that.”
She now looks ahead to the final leg of the tour, with three more shows scheduled for Vancouver at BC Place from December 6-8.
