The Real Story: The Heroes of Rezang La
The film chronicles the extraordinary bravery of the Charlie Company, 13 Kumaon Regiment. Led by Major Shaitan Singh Bhati (played by Farhan Akhtar), 120 Indian soldiers—mostly hailing from the Ahir community of Haryana and Rajasthan—stood their ground against over 3,000 Chinese troops at an altitude of 16,000 feet in Ladakh
Despite being outnumbered and outgunned, the soldiers fought to the “last man and last bullet,” inflicting heavy casualties on the enemy and successfully defending the Chushul Valley. Major Bhati was posthumously awarded the Param Vir Chakra, India’s highest military honor, for his leadership.

Theatrical Reception
Released on November 21, 2025, 120 Bahadur received praise for its technical authenticity and Farhan Akhtar’s restrained, powerful performance. However, it faced a tough battle at the box office, earning approximately ₹23.60 crore worldwide against a high production budget. The move to OTT on the eve of Republic Day is expected to give the film a massive second wind among patriotic audiences.
