Patna (Bihar) [India]: Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar Samrat Chaudhary took a potshot at Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader and LoP Bihar assembly Tejashwi Yadav, saying RJD chief Lalu Yadav has suffered so many defeats under the leadership of Bihar CM Nitish Kumar that now Tejashwi is unable to bear the pain.
Chaudhary’s reaction came in response to a question quoting Tejashwi Yadav that this bypoll win is going to be BJP’s last victory.
“Lalu Yadav has suffered so many defeats under the leadership of Nitish Kumar, that he (Tejashwi) is unable to bear the pain. The pair of PM Modi and CM Nitish in NDA has been defeating RJD continuously since 2005 and will continue to do so in the future. Lalu Prasad’s family does not have any agenda. People of his family have only looted Bihar,” he said.
Notably, the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) made a clean sweep in Bihar bypolls by retaining the Imamganj assembly seat and capturing Tarari, Ramgarh and Belaganj from the INDIA bloc.
Meanwhile, another Deputy CM of Bihar Vijay Kumar Sinha slammed Congress and INDIA alliance and accused them of being addicted to power and ready to compromise for being in it.
“Some people are addicted to being in power. They can compromise with anything to be in power…Congress people and the INDIA alliance people are of this mindset. The mindset of West Bengal, Jharkhand and Kerala has to be changed and the people there have to be close to the spirit of the nation…,” said Sinha.
Meanwhile, reflecting on his party’s poor performance in the bypolls RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav on Saturday affirmed confidence for the next assembly elections in 2025, stating that the Mahagathbandhan will form the next government in the state.
He further pointed out that RJD won on all four Lok Sabha seats where the bypolls were held. Tejashwi also praised the party’s performance in Jharkhand, where RJD won 4 seats. He also congratulated CM Hemant Soren for winning a second consecutive election in the state.
Speaking to reporters on Saturday evening, the former Deputy CM and the Leader of the Opposition in Bihar assembly, said, “We have won 4 seats in Jharkhand and lost 1 or 2 seats by a very narrow margin. Hemant Soren has become the Chief Minister of Jharkhand with a huge majority. We thank him as well.”
“As far as the Bihar by-election is concerned, we have won all four Lok Sabha seats on which elections were held. We lost the 2024 by-elections, we will win in 2025… A grand alliance government is sure to be formed in Bihar in 2025… After Jharkhand, it is Bihar’s turn…We will ensure that at any cost, an NDA government will not be formed in Bihar,” he had added.
