Prolific Even At 83: Amitabh Bachchan Works All Night, Apologizes To Fans For Delayed Blog Post

Veteran Indian cinema star Amitabh Bachchan, celebrated for his prolific career spanning multiple languages and numerous awards, continues to maintain an extremely demanding work schedule even after celebrating his 83rd birthday. The actor frequently uses his personal Tumblr blog to share candid thoughts and updates with his devoted fanbase.

In his latest post, the actor revealed that his work commitments had kept him occupied late into the early hours of the morning, leading to a late blog update.

Working Until Dawn

Amitabh Bachchan detailed his intense working hours, apologizing to his fans—whom he affectionately refers to as the Ef (Extended Family)—for the delay in his routine blog post:

“Kept working till 5:30 in the morning .. and just forgot there was important Blog work and responses to give.. so apologies and regrets .. But regret never for the Ef (perhaps he means work),” he wrote in his latest blog update.

Emotional Reflections and Sadness

In a previous blog post, the actor had shared his emotional state, admitting that he had been affected by the “images and feelings” of the past few days, suggesting a lingering sadness that has made him unresponsive to his usual work routine.

“Images and feelings of the past days still linger and the mind and body is unresponsive to the routine of work .. But they keep saying that ‘the show must go on’ .. whoever said this may have meant good and with some positivity, but they that suffer, bear the brunt of the sadness that still remains to be filtered ..”

He recounted an outing with the Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC) crew, noting the bittersweet feeling of the occasion:

“The crew of KBC took me out after the days’ work to dine with them .. a fine South Indian place .. delicious food and company .. but the heart mourns .. more so because none of them knew that it was Babuji’s birth Anniversary .. to each his own ..”

This emotional strain follows the recent passing of his close industry friend and beloved Bollywood star, Dharmendra, who had been battling ill health and passed away at the age of 89.

On the Work Front

Despite his packed schedule, Amitabh Bachchan was last seen delivering a critically acclaimed performance as Ashwatthama in the sci-fi drama Kalki 2898 AD. Directed by Nag Ashwin, the film—which also starred Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, and Kamal Haasan—was a massive global success, reportedly grossing over ₹1,000 crore worldwide.
