“Jharkhand has ‘rejected’ NDA,” says Congress’ Pawan Khera

New Delhi, November 24: Congress leader Pawan Khera on Saturday expressed his happiness after the results of the Jharkhand assembly election were declared and stated that the people of the state had ‘rejected’ the National Democratic Alliance (NDA).

The Congress leader stated that the “divisive politics” in Jharkhand has been defeated.
“In Jharkhand, we have won, and divisive politics has been defeated… We are very happy… The people of Jharkhand have rejected them (NDA),” Congress leader Pawan Khera said.

When asked about the Maharashtra assembly poll results, Khera said, “The results in Maharashtra are unbelievable… We are also happy that in Parliament there will be a strong voice from the INDIA alliance side.”

Notably, in Jharkhand, the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) won 34 seats, with its allies winning 22 seats. Among JMM’s allies, the Congress won 16 seats, RJD four, and CPI-ML two.

BJP won 21 seats, and its allies AJSU, Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), and JD-U won one each.

This marks the first time in Jharkhand’s history that an incumbent government that completed five years won an election in the state.
Meanwhile, the ruling Mahayuti alliance in Maharashtra won the state assembly polls.

In Maharashtra, the BJP led the Mahayuti alliance led by its allies, Shiv Sena and NCP, with its momentum. to a smashing victory.
While the BJP has won 132 seats, Shiv Sena, led by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, has won 57 seats, and the NCP, led by Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar won 41 seats. The state has 288 assembly seats.

The constituents of Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) suffered a rude jolt with Shiv Sena (UBT) led by Uddhav Thackeray winning 20 seats, Congress 16, and NCP(SP) led by Sharad Pawar only 10 seats.

The BJP saw a fabulous strike rate winning 132 of the 148 seats it contested in Maharashtra. The party’s allies Shiv Sena and NCP also have a very good strike rate.

Single-phase assembly elections in Maharashtra were held on November 20, and two-phase elections in Jharkhand were held on November 13 and 20.
