The office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu issued a clarification on Tuesday, confirming that while his planned visit to India has been postponed, coordination for a new visit date is already underway.
The statement was made in response to reports claiming that Netanyahu, who was expected to visit India by the end of this year, would no longer be making the trip.
In a post on X, the Israeli Prime Minister’s office made a point to highlight the deep diplomatic and personal connection between the leaders:
“Israel’s bond with India and between Prime Minister Netanyahu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi is very strong.”
The post continued by expressing explicit confidence in the host country’s ability to ensure security for the trip:
“The PM has full confidence in India’s security under PM Modi, and teams are already coordinating a new visit date.”
Netanyahu’s last trip to India was seven years ago, spanning from January 14 to 19 in 2018. That visit marked only the second time an Israeli Prime Minister had visited the nation. The Prime Minister’s office is now working to reschedule the visit to continue strengthening the ties between the two nations.
