Delhi’s air quality remains ‘very poor’ for 9th day; 11 stations record ‘severe’ AQI

New Delhi: Delhi continued to choke under toxic air on Saturday, recording its ninth consecutive day in the ‘very poor’ category. The city’s 24-hour average AQI settled at 370, according to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).

Of the 38 functional monitoring stations, 11 logged AQI above 400—classified as ‘severe’. These included stations at DTU, Bawana, Anand Vihar, Mundka, Narela, Rohini, Vivek Vihar, among others.

  • Saturday: 370
  • Friday: 374
  • Thursday: 391
  • Wednesday: 392
  • Tuesday: 374
  • Monday: 351

Pollution Sources

According to IITM Pune’s Decision Support System:

  • Vehicular emissions: 14.9% on Saturday, projected to rise to 19.1% on Sunday
  • Stubble burning: 2.8% on Saturday, projected at 2.6% for Sunday
