In a significant breakthrough for Indian law enforcement, Anmol Bishnoi, the younger brother and key overseas operative of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, has been deported from the United States and is expected to land in Delhi today. Anmol is considered one of India’s most wanted crime fugitives, facing at least 18 criminal cases across the country, including the conspiracy to murder former Maharashtra minister and NCP leader Baba Siddique.
The deportation was confirmed by the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS), which informed Baba Siddique’s family via email that Anmol Bishnoi had been removed from American soil on November 18, 2025. Siddique’s family released a screenshot of the confirmation email.
Anmol’s Role in Global Crime Syndicate
Anmol Bishnoi plays a crucial role in Lawrence Bishnoi’s global criminal syndicate, which continues to function actively despite Lawrence’s incarceration in Sabarmati Central Jail in Gujarat.
- Overseas Handler: A senior official of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) stated that Anmol functioned as Lawrence Bishnoi’s principal overseas handler, directing extortion rackets, issuing threats, and coordinating criminal assignments through encrypted channels. His time abroad allowed the syndicate to build links with criminal groups across West Asia, East Africa, and North America.
- Pro-Khalistan Links: The Lawrence Bishnoi gang is also believed to be closely associated with pro-Khalistan groups, including Babbar Khalsa International (BKI), with agencies suspecting that Anmol Bishnoi and Goldy Brar run those operations.
Involvement in High-Profile Murders and Attacks
Anmol Bishnoi is accused of directly conspiring and coordinating several high-profile criminal acts:
- Baba Siddique’s Murder: Investigations revealed Anmol was heavily involved in the murder of NCP leader Baba Siddique, who was shot dead outside his son Zeeshan’s office building in Bandra East on October 12, 2024. Anmol was reportedly in touch with Baba’s shooters over Snapchat, operating under the alias ‘Bhanu’.
- Sidhu Moose Wala Murder: He was also involved in ordering the hit on singer Sidhu Moose Wala in May 2022.
- Salman Khan Firing: Anmol himself claimed responsibility for the firing incident outside Bollywood actor Salman Khan’s home in April 2024, an act that led to the Mumbai Police issuing a lookout circular against him.
The Deportation Process
A native of Punjab’s Fazilka district, Anmol was on the run after fleeing India in 2022 using a forged passport. Investigators believe he exited India via Nepal, before traveling through Dubai and Kenya, eventually settling in the US.
- He was detained in the US in November last year, setting the deportation process in motion.
- The US’ Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) took him into custody due to his fake passport and lodged him in the Pottawattamie County jail in Iowa.
- Anmol is considered a “most wanted” fugitive by the NIA, which had placed a ₹10 lakh reward for his capture.
With his deportation confirmed, Indian agencies, including the NIA, are preparing to take formal custody of Anmol Bishnoi upon his arrival in Delhi to begin questioning in connection with the numerous crimes he is facing.
