New Delhi: Shah Rukh Khan graced a grand event in Mumbai today, joining Rizwan Sajan, founder and chairman of the Dubai-based Danube Group, to unveil a landmark new real estate project titled Shahrukhz. The event, hosted at a five-star hotel in Mumbai, celebrated the actor’s latest milestone, making him the first film star to have a tower named after him.
Speaking at the event, Shah Rukh Khan revealed that Rizwan Sajan insisted that the unveiling should happen in India rather than Dubai. “I really wanted the event to take place here, as I come from here. Wanting to make their lives better. As and when this project begins to roll, I hope people find their lives growing beautifully and exponentially, as they should,” he shared.
SRK on How Proud His Mother Would Have Been
The actor reflected on the emotional significance of the honour, saying, “My mother would be very happy. It is a very big honour. When my kids come, I will say, ‘Papa ka naam likha hai, dekho.’ I have seen all the details of this building for the past two months. It is state-of-the-art and affordable. For people who are starting off in Dubai, it will be a moment and an inspiration to make their lives.”
A Viral Shah Rukh Khan Moment on Stage
Shah Rukh Khan delighted fans with some of his signature moves. He recreated his famous pose, imitated his iconic “Don” walk, and even delivered the memorable dialogue from Om Shanti Om:
“Itni shiddat se main ne tumhe paane ki koshish ki hai, ki har zarre ne mujhe tumse milane ki saazish ki hai. Aaj aap sabne mujhe meri chaht se mila diya. Thanks, thanks very much.”
He kept the audience energised as he danced to Chaiyya Chaiyya on stage alongside Farah Khan and Rizwan Sajan.
About the Shahrukhz Tower
The Danube Group’s Shahrukhz tower is expected to be completed in three to four years and will feature 56 floors. A statue of Shah Rukh Khan in his iconic arms-wide-open pose will be installed at the entrance, offering fans a perfect photo spot.
Explaining what drew him to the project, SRK said, “When Rizwan explained the idea of the building — to build something for people who come with the dream of finding a place for their businesses and houses in a place like Dubai — and if I can be a part of it and an inspiration, it will be the greatest gift.”
