As a way to remember Zubeen Garg, a well-known Assamese musician and actor, his last movie, Roi Roi Binaale, will come out on October 31. Garima Saikia, Zubeen’s wife, told the news agency media that the movie, which is now in post-production, was something her husband really wanted to do.
Garima told the news just after his sorrowful funeral on Tuesday, which hundreds of admirers and well-wishers attended. “We were making a movie called Roi Roi Binaale, which will be his last one. And she stated he was quite passionate about it. “He was going to put it out on October 31.” Maybe we need to start working on the movie now and keep the date like he imagined.
A “Void” in His Last Show
Garima also said how sad she was that Zubeen couldn’t finish dubbing his voice for his part in the movie because he died too soon. She said that there would be a “void” in the final result.
In the movie, Zubeen portrayed a “very different role” as a blind artist in what is called a “purely musical love story.” He was said to be quite enthused about the part. The music and other parts of the movie are done, but the lack of his voice dubbing is a big loss.
Friends and relatives called Zubeen Garg, 52, “Goldie.” He died in Singapore in September after an alleged drowning while attending the Northeast India Festival. His body was flown back to Guwahati and put on display at the Bhogesawar Baruah Sports Complex so that admirers and well-wishers may pay their last respects. His sister, Palme Borthakur, led the last rituals for him on Tuesday at Kamarkuchi, his ancestral hamlet, with full state honors.
