SCOTTSDALE, ARIZONA— The conservative movement is sad and unsure after the murder of Charlie Kirk on September 10. Turning Point USA’s 31-year-old creator was shot and killed during an event at Utah Valley University. Now, his organization and fans are left to wonder what will become to his prominent platform, especially The Charlie Kirk Show.
Isabel Brown, a writer for Turning Point USA, echoed this feeling on X by asking, “Where do we go from here?” What’s next? Who is going to get the microphone?
In the middle of all these questions, it has been revealed that Erika Kirk, Charlie’s wife, will speak in public for the first time since the tragedy. Turning Point USA said that her speech will be aired live tonight at 8:15 pm EST on X, YouTube, and Rumble, as well as on Charlie Kirk’s and TPUSA’s social media sites. The live feed will start at 8:00 PM Eastern Time.
It is still not clear if Erika, who has her own podcast and has been to many events with her husband, would take over as host of The Charlie Kirk Show. Kirk often pointed to his wife and kids as examples of the conservative ideals he wanted to spread in public.
Today was the first installment of the show since Kirk died. It was a memorial. There was a sad empty chair on the set, and producer Andrew Kolvet said that the chair will stay vacant to show that Kirk can’t be replaced. Friends Tyler Bowyer, Jack Posobiec, and Blake Neff, who worked on the program, promised to keep using his work as motivation to remember his memory.
The tragedy has brought in a lot of sympathy, especially from Vice President JD Vance, who arranged for Kirk’s family to fly to Arizona aboard Air Force Two. People saw Erika Kirk for the first time since the shooting when she got off the plane with Second Lady Usha Vance. Erika posted one Bible scripture on X not long after her husband was shot: “Psalm 46:1—God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” Since then, she hasn’t said anything on the radio, which makes tonight’s speech even more important.
Authorities have arrested a suspect named Tyler Robinson in connection with the shooting, and the investigation is still going on.
