The people who made the upcoming social drama Ikk Kudi have decided to delay the film’s premiere as a sign of support for the flood victims in Punjab. The movie was supposed to be out on September 19, but now it will come out on October 31, 2025.
The film’s production crew told people about the news on social media. In their statement, they said, “The whole Ikk Kudi team has decided to push back the release of the movie…” Because of the sudden and catastrophic flooding in many parts of Punjab, we believe it is our duty to support our people during these tough times. The team also said that they are working with a number of NGOs to help people who were affected by the floods.
Ikk Kudi is the first movie that actress-singer Shehnaaz Gill has produced under her own name, Shehnaaz Gill Production. Amarjit Singh Saron directed the movie, which also stars well-known actors Nirmal Rishi, Harby Sangha, and Udaybir Sandhu in important parts.
Because of the ongoing situation, this is not the first Punjabi movie to be put off. The people behind the highly anticipated sequel, Nikka Zaildar 4, which stars Ammy Virk and Sonam Bajwa, have pushed back the release of their movie. White Hill Studios, the company that made the movie, used Instagram to say that Nikka Zaildar 4 has been moved to October 21.
Their message said something similar: “We believe it is our duty to stand by the people of Punjab during these tough times.” The people who made Nikka Zaildar 4 went even further by promising the public that they will visit places impacted by flooding “very soon” to bring them needed supplies. “The Nikka Zaildar 4 team has decided to go to the affected areas and bring trucks full of food and other supplies to the people as soon as possible.” The post ended with, “We stand with Punjab.”
The choices made by both movies show how dedicated the Punjabi entertainment industry is to helping its community in times of trouble.
