Malaika Arora On Being Raised By A Single Mom And Why She Can’t Stop Working: ‘Liberty Hai Hi Nahi’

Malaika Arora, a TV personality, talked openly about her childhood and how being raised by her single mother, Joyce Polycarp, affected her in a recent interview. Malaika said that her mother’s hard work taught her a strong sense of duty from a young age, especially when it comes to handling her money.

Insecurities Made Me Focus on Making Money and Investing
Malaika said that her mother “worked very hard and made sure she gave us everything we needed.” This example of dedication made her feel “extra responsible” and made her grow up “way before my time.” She remembered feeling like she had to take care of her younger sister, Amrita Arora.

Malaika noted that when she started working at 17, her main goals were “earning, saving, and investing.” She honestly said that this behavior came from being raised by a single mother and added, “You grow up with certain insecurities.” But she made it clear that Joyce’s mother never told her, “You can’t have this.” She did it all by herself.”

Malaika also learned how important it is to work hard from this background. “I can’t just sit back and say, ‘Arre mujhe kaam nahi karna (I don’t want to work).'” She said, “That liberty toh hai hi nahi,” which means “That liberty isn’t there.” This shows how hard she works.

Malaika Arora is a well-known person in the entertainment business. She has had a great career as an actor, dancer, and judge on reality shows.
