New Delhi, India | July 29, 2025: In a significant victory against terrorism, Union Home Minister Amit Shah today confirmed that three terrorists involved in the brutal killing of civilians in the Pahalgam terror attack have been eliminated by security forces during “Operation Mahadev.” Shah made the announcement in the Lok Sabha amidst the ongoing debate on “Operation Sindoor,” bringing crucial news to the nation.
Addressing the lower house, Minister Shah stated, “In a joint Operation Mahadev, the Indian Army, CRPF, and J&K Police have neutralized three terrorists who were involved in the Pahalgam terror attack.” He strongly condemned the barbaric act, emphasizing the horrific nature of the killings. “Innocent civilians were killed in front of their families by asking their religion. I condemn this barbaric act. I express my sympathies to the families who lost their loved ones,” he added, conveying the government’s solidarity with the victims.
The successful neutralization of the terrorists took place on Monday in an intense firefight with security forces in the Harwan area near Dachigam National Park of Srinagar in Jammu and Kashmir.
During the parliamentary discussion, BJP MP Baijayant Jay Panda had earlier hinted at the breakthrough, informing the House that it appeared at least one terrorist involved in the Pahalgam attack had been neutralized in the ongoing anti-terror operation, Mahadev, in Jammu and Kashmir.
“As we were debating this issue today, some of us must have seen in the news that an Operation Mahadev is being conducted in Jammu and Kashmir, targeted at terrorists, and it appears that at least one of those eliminated today was involved in the Pahalgam attack,” MP Panda stated.
The anti-terror “Operation Mahadev” was conducted in the general area of Lidwas, as confirmed by the Chinar Corps of the Indian Army. In a previous post on X, the Chinar Corps had announced, “OP MAHADEV – Contact established in General Area Lidwas. Operation in progress,” indicating the commencement of the crucial mission.
This successful operation marks a significant step in the ongoing efforts to combat terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir and bring perpetrators of violence against civilians to justice.
