Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], July 16: A fire broke out in the early hours of Wednesday at a residential apartment in Aijaz Residency, located in the Moghalpura area of Hyderabad, prompting a swift rescue operation that saved five individuals trapped on the upper floors.
The fire, which erupted in Flat No. 201 of the G+4 building, was caused by a short circuit originating from the switchboard, and quickly spread to a bed and TV, according to fire officials.
Fire crews from Moghalpura Fire Station, led by Leading Fireman SM Hasan, responded promptly with two fire tenders and a firefighting robot. Their timely action ensured no casualties occurred.
Individuals Rescued:
- Syed Abdul Kareem Sajid (55, physically handicapped)
- Atiya Begum (47)
- Farheen Begum (27)
- Syed Imam Jafar (19)
- Mohammed Rizwan Uddin (38)
The fire has since been fully doused, and officials confirmed that the building was cleared of immediate danger.
This incident follows another fire last week at Tirupati Tyre Works, also in Hyderabad, which occurred around 4:30 AM. In that case, three fire tenders were deployed, and no injuries were reported.
Officials are urging residents to ensure regular electrical safety checks to prevent such incidents, particularly during the monsoon season when short circuits are more common.
