Washington DC [US], July 15: The fourth installment of the Spider-Man franchise starring Tom Holland is officially moving forward, with the actor confirming the title as Spider-Man: Brand New Day and sharing exciting details about the film’s direction.
In a recent interview with the YouTube series Flip Your Wig, Holland said he’s thrilled to reprise his role as Peter Parker and revealed that the film will mark a return to “old-school” filmmaking with a focus on practical effects and real-world locations.
“I’m obviously over the moon and so excited. Playing Spider-Man is like hanging out with an old pal,” Holland said. “We were really restricted in the last film because of COVID—we shot the entire movie on stages. Now, we’re going to shoot in real locations, starting with Glasgow.”
He added that the team is working on a massive set-piece using the streets of Glasgow and that the process is reminiscent of filming 2017’s Spider-Man: Homecoming.
“It’s going to feel like a breath of fresh air. I think the fans are going to be over the moon with what we’re putting together.”
According to Deadline, Spider-Man: Brand New Day is scheduled for release on July 31, 2026. Filming will begin once Holland and co-star Zendaya wrap up work on Christopher Nolan’s upcoming project The Odyssey.
The film will be directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, best known for Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, with longtime Spider-Man producers Amy Pascal and Kevin Feige returning as producers.
New cast members include Sadie Sink (Stranger Things) and Liza Colon-Zayas (The Bear), though details about their characters remain under wraps.
The franchise’s last entry, Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021), was a global blockbuster, earning nearly $2 billion worldwide. That film ended with Peter Parker erasing his identity from everyone’s memory—setting the stage for this new chapter and a “brand new day” in his superhero journey.
