Haridwar: In a shocking incident in Uttarakhand’s Haridwar, a 28-year-old man from Uttar Pradesh allegedly killed his partner, suspecting she was having an affair. The incident occurred in the Sidkul industrial area on Monday, where the couple—both originally from Sitapur, Uttar Pradesh—were employed.
The Victim and the Suspect
The accused, identified as Pradeep Pal, allegedly slit the throat of 22-year-old Hansika Yadav, his girlfriend of four years. According to police, the two were not on talking terms and had frequent disputes.
“Preliminary investigation suggests Pradeep suspected Hansika of infidelity. This may have led him to murder her,” said SHO Kamal Bhandari, as quoted by media.
Crime Scene and Escape
Hansika, who worked at a factory in Sidkul, was reportedly headed out for work when Pradeep attacked her with a knife and fled the scene. Passersby rushed her to the hospital, where she was declared dead.
Police say the attack was sudden and brutal, indicating premeditation.
Manhunt Underway
Pradeep is currently absconding, and police have formed a team to track and arrest him. CCTV footage from the surrounding areas is being reviewed, and lookout notices have been issued across Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh.
