Telangana CM Revanth Reddy Announces 571 New Government Schools To Improve Educational Standards

Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has reiterated his government’s commitment to providing quality education across the state by announcing the establishment of 571 new schools in both rural and urban areas where there are no schools and the student count exceeds 20, according to an official release from the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO).

The state government’s main objective is to enhance educational standards in all government-run schools and colleges, ensuring that no child is left behind in accessing quality learning opportunities.

Following the reopening of schools after the summer vacation, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy conducted a review meeting of the School Education Department at the ICCC (Integrated Command and Control Centre). During the meeting, he directed the officials to devise a new system to ensure universal enrolment of children in government schools and to provide them with quality education.

The Chief Minister also stressed the need to raise the standards of teaching staff and introduce educational reforms focused on skill development training and language proficiency.

“Skill development training should be provided based on high school standards and create a platform to excel in their chosen field in the future,” the Chief Minister stated.

In light of the state’s rapid urbanisation, CM Revanth Reddy instructed the Education Department, Municipal Administration, and Urban Development officials to identify and allocate suitable plots within HMDA (Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority) and municipal layouts to establish new schools as part of the state’s growing social infrastructure needs.

The Chief Minister further directed officials to rationalise all educational institutions up to the intermediate level operated by SC, ST, BC, and Minority welfare departments, ensuring that every institution has the prescribed number of students as per norms.

Considering the rising demand for Gurukuls (residential schools known for providing quality food, uniforms, textbooks, and a disciplined environment), the Chief Minister asked officials to explore the possibility of admitting day scholars into these residential schools while providing them with food, uniforms, and textbooks.

“Students should be developed into mentally strong and responsible citizens by providing them counselling on the importance of family, society and their responsibilities,” the Chief Minister emphasised.

According to the official statement, the review meeting was attended by Chief Minister’s Advisor Vem Narender Reddy, State Government Advisor K. Kesava Rao, Special Secretary to the Chief Minister Ajith Reddy, CM Secretary Manik Raj, Education Secretary Yogita Rana, Intermediate Board Secretary Deva Sena, and School Education Director Narasimha Reddy.
