India’s strong and united voice against terrorism resonated in Doha as former Minister of State for External Affairs V Muraleedharan and Nationalist Congress Party (SCP) MP Supriya Sule led an all-party parliamentary delegation to Qatar. The visit was part of India’s wider diplomatic outreach following Operation Sindoor, launched in response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack.
🇮🇳 India’s Message: United, Firm, and Clear
Addressing the Indian diaspora in Qatar, Muraleedharan emphasized:
“India wants to raise its voice in unison against terrorism. Despite global condemnation, India still faces such acts. During our discussions, the Qatari leadership also expressed zero tolerance toward terrorism, which aligns with our position.”
The all-party delegation briefed Qatari authorities, including Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Al Khulaifi, on India’s zero-tolerance policy, the details of Operation Sindoor, and the continued threat posed by cross-border terrorism from Pakistan.
🗣️ Diaspora Responds with Solidarity
The Indian community in Doha welcomed the delegation warmly.
“We are very glad to see the all-party delegation. This sends out a clear message that when it comes to India’s integrity, we are all one,” a member of the diaspora stated.
Rajni Murthy, another community representative, stressed the importance of communicating India’s rationale globally:
“The terrorist attack in Pahalgam was very wrong. It is important to share why India acted and carry that message forward.”
🛡️ Exposing Disinformation, Defending Sovereignty
Muraleedharan acknowledged international support for India’s counter-terror operations but warned about ongoing disinformation campaigns by terrorist sympathizers:
“People support India’s action. But disinformation is being spread by those behind cross-border terrorism. This visit allowed us to clarify our stance under the leadership of PM Modi.”
📚 BJP to Launch ‘Emergency Awareness’ Campaign
Muraleedharan also announced a BJP-led initiative to raise awareness about the 1975 Emergency imposed by then PM Indira Gandhi:
“It was the most shameful period. Democratic rights were revoked, opposition jailed. We must educate future generations to uphold constitutional ethics. The campaign will begin June 25–26.”
🌐 Broader Diplomatic Effort
This delegation to Qatar is part of a seven-team global outreach aimed at exposing Pakistan’s role in terrorism and building international consensus against extremism. Similar delegations led by MPs like Ravi Shankar Prasad (France), Sanjay Kumar Jha (Singapore), and others have already visited key global capitals.
