Kuwait City [Kuwait]: An Indian all-party delegation led by BJP MP Baijayant Jay Panda met Kuwait’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs, Sherida Abdullah Saad Al-Maousharji, on Monday. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to a zero-tolerance approach to terrorism.
During the high-level meeting, Indian Members of Parliament briefed the Kuwaiti leadership on India’s recent decisive actions against cross-border terrorism, particularly in light of Operation Sindoor, launched in response to the Pahalgam terror attack.
In a post on X, the Indian Embassy in Kuwait stated:
“United against terrorism! All-Party delegation led by @PandaJay called on HE Sherida A S Al-Maousharji, Dy PM & MoS for Cabinet Affairs, Kuwait & apprised him of recent actions to combat cross-border terrorism. Both sides reaffirmed their #ZeroTolerance approach to terrorism.”
The all-party delegation comprises BJP MPs Nishikant Dubey, Phangnon Konyak, Rekha Sharma, Satnam Singh Sandhu; AIMIM MP Asaduddin Owaisi; former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad; and former Indian diplomat Harsh Vardhan Shringla.
While in Kuwait, the delegation also visited the Grand Mosque, the country’s largest, which carries a unique Indian connection.
“The All-Party delegation led by @PandaJay visited the #GrandMosque of Kuwait, the largest mosque in Kuwait built over 4 decades ago. The teakwood doors of Grand Mosque speak of its Indian connection,” the Indian Embassy posted on X.
The MPs also paid tributes to Mahatma Gandhi at the Indian Embassy in Kuwait.
“The All-Party delegation led by @PandaJay offered floral tributes at the statue of Mahatma Gandhi at the Embassy,” the Embassy wrote.
In another post, the Embassy highlighted the delegation’s homage to India’s fallen heroes:
“Saluting India’s spirit of bravery and sacrifice! The All-Party delegation led by @PandaJay paid floral tributes at the Shilaphalakam at the Embassy honouring the brave souls who laid down their lives in service of the nation.”
The delegation’s Kuwait visit comes after concluding its leg in Bahrain, as part of a wider diplomatic mission initiated by India following the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, in which 26 tourists were brutally killed by Pakistan-sponsored terrorists.
In retaliation, India launched Operation Sindoor on May 7, targeting terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK). The Indian Armed Forces also responded effectively to Pakistani aggression by striking military assets, including airbases. A cessation of military actions was reached after Pakistan’s DGMO reached out to his Indian counterpart.
The current diplomatic outreach by India includes seven multi-party delegations deployed globally to counter Pakistan’s misinformation campaigns and reinforce India’s policy of zero tolerance towards terrorism.
