Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah Calls For All-Party Meeting After India-Pakistan Ceasefire

Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India]: Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Monday urged the Central Government to convene an all-party meeting following the recent ceasefire announcement between India and Pakistan, terming the matter as “very serious.”

“Ceasefire has been declared. Both countries have agreed. DGMOs are meeting. Let’s see what decision is made there. An all-party meeting should have been called before the ceasefire. Parliament should have also been held along with it,” the Chief Minister told reporters, adding that the situation demands national-level political consultation.

His remarks come in the wake of a fragile ceasefire understanding between India and Pakistan following escalating tensions and the launch of Operation Sindoor on May 7. The Indian Armed Forces had carried out coordinated precision strikes on multiple terror infrastructure sites in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoJK) in retaliation for the Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 tourists.

On Sunday, senior commanders from the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force addressed a joint press conference in New Delhi, detailing the impact of the operation.
“This time, if Pakistan dares take any action, they know what we are going to do,” warned top Indian defence officials.

Operation Sindoor reportedly eliminated over 100 terrorists and significantly damaged 11 Pakistani air bases, while ensuring minimal civilian casualties through carefully planned air, land, and sea operations.

Addressing the issue of Pakistani nationals in Karnataka, Siddaramaiah stated, “There are only three children in Mysore. The rest have been sent back. Except for three children under the age of six, all Pakistani nationals have been repatriated. What’s happening is that a Pakistani husband, an Indian wife, and their children tried to cross over, but no one came to receive them at the border, so they returned.”

The Chief Minister concluded by reaffirming the state’s commitment to its administrative goals. “Our government has done as it promised,” he added.
