Op Sindoor: Air Marshal Bharti Reveals Details On Precision Strikes In Pakistan’s Muridke, Bahawalpur Terror Camps

In a decisive and calibrated response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, the Indian Armed Forces launched Operation Sindoor on May 7, carrying out precision strikes on nine major terror camps across Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). These camps were linked to Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), and Hizbul Mujahideen.

Out of the nine camps neutralised, five were located in PoK and four in Pakistan. The strikes aimed to eliminate operational infrastructure and senior leadership without inflicting civilian casualties.

Key Targets Eliminated

At a joint press briefing, Air Marshal AK Bharti and DGMO Lieutenant General Rajeev Ghai revealed that the most significant hits were on:

  • Markaz Taiba in Muridke, a LeT stronghold, where Mudassar Khadian Khas, the camp-in-charge, was killed.
  • Markaz Subhan Allah in Bahawalpur, the Jaish HQ, led by Hafiz Muhammad Jameel, a senior figure and key radicaliser.

“We ensured minimal collateral damage by targeting specific structures within terror campuses. Civilian and military facilities were not touched,” said Air Marshal Bharti.

He presented high-resolution images showing four precise impact points in Muridke and significant structural damage to indoctrination and training facilities in Bahawalpur.

High-Profile Terrorists Killed

DGMO Ghai confirmed that over 100 terrorists were neutralised in the operation, including:

  • Perpetrators of the 1999 IC-814 hijacking
  • Key planners of the 2019 Pulwama attack

“The operation was not just punitive, but strategic—to dismantle command centres and training infrastructure, ensuring long-term impact,” said Ghai.

India’s Message to the World

India reiterated its commitment to zero tolerance for terrorism and its responsibility-driven military doctrine—precise, restrained, but resolute.

Video and photographic evidence shared during the briefing displayed the targeted nature of the strikes, emphasizing India’s careful approach to avoid civilian harm.
