Indian Cricket Coach Gautam Gambhir Receives Death Threat From “ISIS Kashmir,” Files FIR In Delhi

Gautam Gambhir, the head coach of the Indian cricket team and a former Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Member of Parliament, has received a chilling death threat from a group claiming to be “ISIS Kashmir.” The threat has triggered a swift and serious response from both Gambhir and Delhi law enforcement authorities.

On Wednesday, Gambhir formally approached the Delhi Police, requesting urgent action and the registration of a First Information Report (FIR) at the Rajinder Nagar Police Station. In his complaint, Gambhir highlighted the gravity of the threat and appealed for enhanced security for himself and his family.

According to police sources, Gambhir received two threatening emails on April 22 — one in the afternoon and another in the evening — both containing the ominous message “IKillU.”

This incident marks the second time Gambhir has been targeted by such threats. In November 2021, while serving as a Member of Parliament, he received a similar email from an anonymous source allegedly linked to terror networks.

In a post on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Gambhir condemned the recent Pahalgam terror attack, in which 26 civilians — mostly tourists — were killed in one of the most horrific acts of terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir since the 2019 Pulwama attack.

“Praying for the families of the deceased. Those responsible for this will pay. India will strike,” Gambhir wrote.

Delhi Police have initiated a thorough investigation into the threat and are expected to enhance security arrangements around Gambhir and his family. The case adds to growing concerns over targeted threats against public figures in the wake of renewed terror activity in the Kashmir Valley.

The authorities remain on high alert, especially following the recent escalation in terror incidents across Jammu and Kashmir.
