S. Jaishankar To Participate In Global Technology Summit 2025 Focused On Innovation And Global Cooperation

External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar will participate in Carnegie India’s Global Technology Summit (GTS) 2025 on Friday, while Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal is set to address the Summit later in the day.

Co-hosted by Carnegie India and the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), GTS is India’s premier platform for dialogue on geo-technology. Now in its ninth edition, the Summit runs from April 10 to 12, and this year’s theme is “Sambhavna”, meaning “possibilities” — reflecting a forward-looking approach to innovation, digital governance, and global cooperation.

The summit aims to shape global tech policy conversations by bringing together voices from government, industry, academia, and civil society. It will explore how emerging technologies can drive inclusive growth, strengthen digital governance, and foster cross-border partnerships.

With over 150 speakers from more than 40 countries—including the US, UK, Japan, Australia, Germany, France, Brazil, UAE, Nigeria, and the European Union—the event will span over 40 public sessions. These include keynote speeches, ministerial panels, expert discussions, and strategic dialogues.

Key topics to be addressed at GTS 2025 include:

  • Artificial Intelligence governance
  • Cybersecurity and space security
  • Data protection frameworks
  • Digital public infrastructure
  • Tech collaboration across the Global South

In a push to engage the next generation, GTS 2025 is also launching the GTS Young Ambassadors programme, allowing students and young professionals across India to take part in key policy dialogues on responsible AI and global digital futures.

Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri will deliver an address on Saturday, further underlining India’s focus on technological diplomacy. Other prominent speakers include German Ambassador to India and Bhutan, Philipp Ackermann, and Australia’s High Commissioner to India, Philip Green.

The MEA in its release stated that the Summit represents India’s commitment to shaping a more inclusive and secure global tech order, grounded in values of collaboration, transparency, and innovation.
