Hyderabad (Telangana) [India]: Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy on Sunday participated in a special outreach initiative titled ‘Lunch with Beneficiary Families’ under the Congress government’s Fine Rice distribution scheme. The event was held in Sarapaka village of Burgampadu mandal, located in Bhadradri Kothagudem district, according to an official release from the CM’s Office.
Before the lunch program, the Chief Minister took part in Srirama Navami rituals at the renowned Sita Ramachandraswamy temple in Bhadrachalam. Following the festivities, he visited the home of Buram Srinivas, one of the beneficiaries of the state’s fine rice distribution scheme.
The Chief Minister shared lunch with the family and engaged in a direct interaction to understand their living conditions and assess the scheme’s impact.
During the interaction, Tulasamma, the homemaker of the family, told the CM that they no longer preferred the coarse rice which was earlier distributed. She thanked CM Revanth Reddy for ensuring the availability of fine rice at an affordable price every month.
The CM also inquired about other welfare initiatives including the free power supply of up to 200 units and the subsidized LPG cylinder at Rs 500.
According to the official statement:
“Tulasamma expressed happiness that the free bus travel scheme is proving to be extremely beneficial for working women.”
This initiative by the CM is part of the Congress government’s broader effort to strengthen welfare delivery, ensure transparency, and receive direct feedback from citizens on government schemes.
