New Delhi [India]: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Rameshwaram, Tamil Nadu, on April 6 to pray at the historic Ramanathaswamy Temple on the occasion of Ram Navami. During his visit, he will also inaugurate the New Pamban Bridge, a modern vertical lift railway sea bridge replacing the old 1914-built Pamban Bridge, which was closed in 2022 due to corrosion.

Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw had earlier shared details about this ambitious infrastructure project, calling it “India’s first vertical lift railway sea bridge.”
