Delhi CM Rekha Gupta Calls for Preservation of Public Property, Unveils Rs 1 Lakh Crore Budget

New Delhi [India], March 26: Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Wednesday inspected metro pillars and emphasized that government property should not be damaged or defaced.

“Nobody has the right to damage government property. If we want a beautiful and clean Delhi, everyone’s support is required. Metro pillars enhance the city’s beauty, and we should refrain from pasting posters and hoardings on them,” CM Gupta told ANI.

As part of her inspection, the Chief Minister personally removed posters from metro pillars and directed officials to clear all such unauthorized advertisements from public infrastructure.

CM Takes Action on Stray Cattle Issue

On her way to the Vidhan Sabha, CM Gupta noticed several cows roaming on a flyover and immediately stopped to address the issue. She instructed the concerned authorities to arrange proper shelters for stray animals to prevent accidents and ensure their well-being.

Delhi Budget 2025-26: A “Historic” Step for Growth and Development

On Tuesday, CM Rekha Gupta presented Delhi’s budget, calling it a “historic” move aimed at transforming the capital into an investment and innovation-friendly city.

With a total allocation of Rs 1 lakh crore, the budget has seen a 31.58% increase from the previous year. It focuses on key sectors such as education, transport, and urban development.

  • Education: The budget for education has been increased by 17%, from Rs 16,396 crore to Rs 19,291 crore for 2024-25.
  • Transport: A massive 73% increase in transport funding aims to improve public transit infrastructure.
  • Housing & Urban Development: The budget allocation has been raised by 9% to enhance affordable housing, sanitation, and urban infrastructure.

Delhi’s budget for 2025-26 prioritizes citizen welfare, focusing on essential sectors to boost quality of life, infrastructure, and sustainable urban development.
