New Delhi [India], March 24: Former Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh has become an admirer of Ishan Kishan after the young southpaw’s explosive performance against Rajasthan Royals in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025.
In their campaign opener, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) stayed true to their aggressive style, demolishing Rajasthan Royals on a high-scoring pitch in Hyderabad. After openers Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head set a solid foundation, Ishan Kishan took charge with his aggressive batting.
Kishan started with a boundary off an outside edge but quickly found his rhythm, blasting a series of powerful shots. He reached fifty in just 25 balls and then brought up his maiden IPL century in a mere 20 more deliveries. He finished unbeaten at 106, powering SRH to a massive total of 286/6, the second-highest score in IPL history.
Harbhajan Singh, commenting on Kishan’s blistering performance, said on his YouTube channel, “I felt MI lost twice today. They lost their game, and the player (Ishan) they left played a sensational knock for SRH.” He also praised SRH’s attacking approach, noting that the team was one of the most dangerous in the IPL 2025 season. “Ishan made a comeback and showed everyone his true capability. He made me his fan,” he added.
In response to SRH’s huge total, Rajasthan Royals’ Sanju Samson (66) and Dhruv Jurel (70) fought hard, but the required run rate was too high. Despite their valiant effort, Rajasthan Royals fell short by 44 runs, losing the match.
