Holi Processions In Sambhal To End By 2:30 P.M. For Friday Prayers: Authorities

Sambhal (Uttar Pradesh) [India]: The Sambhal Police and district administration have announced comprehensive security arrangements to ensure peaceful Holi celebrations in the city.

Superintendent of Police (SP) KK Bishnoi confirmed that Holi processions will be allowed across the city but must conclude by 2:30 PM to allow for Friday prayers (Jumme ki Namaz) to proceed without disruption.

“Processions for Holi will be taken out and celebrations will happen in all parts of the city before 2:30 PM. Proper police deployment is in place. I hope this Holi will bring happiness to all,” SP Bishnoi stated.

To maintain law and order, Sambhal Circle Officer (CO) Anuj Chaudhary led a flag march on Thursday alongside police personnel. Additionally, District Magistrate Rajendra Pensia, senior officers, and paramilitary forces conducted a separate flag march to reinforce security.

As a precaution, mosques in Aligarh and Jama Masjid in Sambhal were covered with tarpaulin sheets to prevent any incidents.

Sambhal ASP Shreesh Chandra mentioned that all 10 religious sites along the traditional Holi procession route have been covered to ensure no sentiments are hurt.

“All 10 religious places that fall on the traditional Holi procession route will be covered. There have been talks and agreements between both communities on this,” ASP Chandra noted.

Sambhal SDM Dr. Vandna Mishra assured that authorities have taken preventive measures, including detaining 1,015 individuals under Section 126 and Section 135 to ensure public safety.

“Lekhpals have been assigned duties at various mosques in Sambhal. The district has been divided into sectors for better monitoring. We are fully prepared for Holi and will ensure it is celebrated peacefully,” Dr. Mishra stated.

The intensified security measures aim to maintain communal harmony and ensure the festivities proceed without incident.

Earlier in the week, the city celebrated Rangbhari Ekadashi, marking the start of Holi festivities, amid tight security arrangements.
