IIFA 2025 Celebrates Indian Cinema With ‘Laapataa Ladies’ Dominating The Night

Story: Jaipur (Rajasthan) [India], March 10: The 25th edition of the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) Awards, held in Jaipur this weekend, was a spectacular celebration of Indian cinema. This year’s event saw ‘Laapataa Ladies’ taking the spotlight with multiple wins, including the coveted Best Picture award.

Directed by Kiran Rao, Laapataa Ladies captivated both audiences and critics with its emotional storytelling and memorable performances, securing the Best Picture trophy. The film’s lead actress, Nitanshi Goel, was named Best Actress for her exceptional portrayal of Phool Kumari, while Kiran Rao herself won the Best Director award for her visionary work.

Kartik Aaryan was honored with the Best Actor award for his performance as Rooh Baba in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. Other major winners included Raghav Juyal, who bagged the Best Performance in a Negative Role award for his portrayal in Kill, and Ravi Kishan, who took home the Best Performance in a Supporting Role (Male) for his role in Laapataa Ladies.

A special tribute was paid to legendary filmmaker Rakesh Roshan, who was awarded the Outstanding Achievement in Indian Cinema Award, recognizing his invaluable contributions to the film industry over the years.

The awards night, hosted by Kartik Aaryan and Karan Johar, brought together a glittering array of Bollywood talent and was a fitting celebration of the rich legacy of Indian cinema.

The IIFA Digital Awards, which took place on March 8, also saw major wins for Kriti Sanon, Jitendra Kumar, Panchayat 3, and Amar Singh Chamkila. The night was truly a celebration of the best in Indian cinema, with Laapataa Ladies taking center stage as the star of IIFA 2025.
